Dušan Vilić

 

D ušan Vilić was born in Belgrade in the artistic family. His extraordinary musical abilities were obvious from an early childhood. He started playing violin when he was four. Dušan finished music high school for both violin and organ. He finished both bachelor and master studies for violin at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with professor Ljubomir Mihailović, with the highest grades. During his studies, he attended singing lessons with professor Ljudmila Gross and a lot of master courses for violin, organ, voice and orchestra interpretation let by the renowned professors both in Serbia and abroad.

He had lessons of solo violin and chamber music with PhD Ino Mirković, Mateja Marinković, Dejan Mihailović (The Interpretation studio of violin), Ilia Korol (Austrian baroque academy).

For a very long time, Dušan Vilić participated at the concerts of Summer academy for organ as a part of the International organ festival “Dies organum”. He also got the international orchestra experience with Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra and in The German-Scandinavian Youth orchestra in Berlin.

Dušan Vilić won many prizes: the first and the second prize at the national competition for violin and chamber music, the prize of the laureate at 3rd all-Russian International Competition 'Art of the 21st Century'.

Dušan used the opportunity to continue the education abroad. He decided to study opera and symphony conducting at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, and his teacher was the conductor and the artistic director of The St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra.

Dušan Vilić has started his conducting artistic career in Serbia, while still a student at Conservatory. Apart from the numerous performances with Youth Symphony Orchestra in St. Petersburg, he held concerts in Belgrade as well, in the seasons 2016 and 2017 with Art Ensemble of Ministry of Defense “Stanislav Binički”. He continued his active concert performances in Russia with the orchestras of Saint Petersburg and Volgograd, with Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Youth orchestra of Saint Petersburg. He graduated with the orchestra of the Opera studio of Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, performing the opera “Eugene Onegin” by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Dušan Vilić is currently a permanent conductor of Volgograd Philharmonic orchestra.
